North Crawley Parish Council Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month
in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm unless the Council decides
otherwise (at the previous meeting) and except for the month of August when no
meeting will usually take place. Monthly minutes are available to view

NORTH CRAWLEY PARISH COUNCIL The Council met on 2nd December 2008 Planning Single storey side extension at Tythe Barn Brooke End – no adverse comments New greenhouse to replace existing at Crawley Grange – no adverse comments Side extension at 35 High Street, - no adverse comments Cranfield Airpark The Parish Council has received a response from Turnberry Consulting assuring us that there is to be no large aircraft or passenger operations involved in the plans of the proposed taxiway realignment. The letter stated that prior to works commencing, a construction traffic management plan should be approved by the local planning authority not permitting construction traffic to be routed through North Crawley village. Clerk to write to Mid-Beds District Council and MK Council highlighting this. Village Appraisal The next meeting is early January 2009 when a draft will be signed off ready to action Traffic Calming The 40mph speed limit is now in place on entry to the village from Cranfield. An Officer from MK Council came to speak to the PC about further traffic calming via VAS (Vehicle Activated Signs). He is arranging some percentiles to be put at all entries to the village before any further discussion can take place. Highways - The re-surfacing of Kilpin Green was discussed, Cllr Hatton reported that she had spoken to Mr Ian McGregor of Milton Keynes Council’s Streetcare who had advised that the road in Kilpin Green had failed very badly (full of cracking) and once there is a cracking effect, water starts to get in and in no time there would be quite serious problems which is why it was necessary to re-surface. Spinney Registrations Cllrs Stapleton and Flower are to meet with David Mercer from Land Registry, Leicester in early 2009 in order to move on with this project Children’s Play Area The application has gone in to WREN who have requested a breakdown of equipment costs. They would also like to see more letters of support for this project from parents and toddler groups. Please e-mail roz.hatton@btinternet.com your letters of support as soon as possible. The Ford The Parish Council are in talks with MK Council in respect of re-siting the East End gate. Councillors’ Items The site of MK Scaffolding was again mentioned and Cllr Potts assured us that action will be forthcoming within the next two weeks. Cllr Hatton reported that MK Youth Service have chosen North Crawley to be awarded with up to £15000.00 grant. The ideas for the spending of this grant have to come from the youths (ages 14 – 19 years) of the village. North Crawley Parish Council have been asked to oversee this and Cllr Stapleton agreed to take this on, Ward Councillor Cllr Potts offered to help him Date and Time of Next Meeting: 6th January at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.
