We always meet on the 3rd. Wednesday in the month at 7.30 in The Village Hall. In addition to our programme, we also join in with county events, such as outings to London, rambles, Group Meetings and Quizzes. New members and visitors are always welcome - we are a very friendly group. For further information please contact Barbara Jackson on 01234 391585. "We are not just Jam and Jerusalem!!!"

At our meeting this month we had news of various future events to celebrate the 90th year of the foundation of Bucks Federation of W.I. We also received information about our Spring Group meeting at Western Underwood, to be hosted by Ravenstone W.I. This will be on April 26th, when the speaker will be on the subject  “From Crossroads to Charity Organiser.” The cost will be £2, and includes refreshments.

A group of us were invited to the Group meeting held at Warley End. We had a very pleasant evening and were made very welcome. The entertainment was a harp recital. We had not realised that a concert harp is such a big instrument, and that as well as playing the strings, there are also foot pedals to be managed. In addition, the lady harpist also sang; a very accomplished lady!

Our speaker this month was David Mackay who brought us outstanding photographs of the Wildlife of Namibia. As a subject for photography it seemed an unlikely place to find wild life, being a country composed of mainly desert, scrub and not much else. In fact, the desert scenery was magnificent and a fitting backdrop for the many animals that David so expertly photographed. Every bit as good as we had been led to expect!

Our next meeting will be on April 21st, when our speaker will be Janet Diveen on the subject of “High Days and Holidays in the Spring.” The meeting starts at 7.30 in the Village Hall, North Crawley
