BACKGROUND
The society was
formed in 2004. A small committee got together to agree the aims of the society
and how it should be run. The first committee meeting was in February 2004 and
the first members meeting held in May 2004. The Society is a member of Milton
Keynes Heritage Association.
AIMS
OF THE SOCIETY
The aims of the
society are:

To develop a historical record of The Crawleys through
the ages

To protect and archive the existing village records

To encourage the study of village history in our young
people

To record the memories of the older village residents

FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Sunday
June 17th 2007:
Open event in the Village Institute featuring displays of old
photographs, memorabilia and artifacts from around the village. 11.00 am
to 4.00 pm. Refreshments provided. No ticket required - please come
along.
Monday
September 24th 2007:
AGM in the Village Hall commencing at 7.30 pm.
Other events are being
planned for the Autumn and Winter.

The Society would
be interested to know if anyone is willing to take on any of these projects,
either individually or as part of a team, or if you have any old photos, books
or memorabilia which may be of interest to any of the people undertaking the
projects.
STORAGE
We will be
starting to build an archive of old documents (including the Parish Council
records). If you have anything that you think may be of interest, please let
us know. Unfortunately at this stage we do not have the capacity to keep other
forms of memorabilia.
